Afrographique shows the number of
female entrepreneurs who've embarked on own-businessing in
Africa, based on
World Bank enterprise surveys between 2006 and 2010. I'd like to think in the two years since 2010 that these numbers have increased dramatically, despite the tricksy
economic circumstances we've all been eyeballing. Perhaps in the next few surveys,
South African female business owners will get their own "line of achievement" on the map and have a solid enough representation not to have to share accolades with
Nigeria, for whom I hope the same. Have a restful, recharging weekend and we'll meet more amazing, innovative entrepreneurs next week.
